Industrial Applications
TRON 1 is an armless locomotion platform with replaceable foot ends. The Educational edition adds SDK, logging and simulation access for reinforcement-learning research.
This editorial assessment concerns industrial buyer readiness. It is not an independent performance test.

Manipulation and Perception
Armless platform; no manipulation load assigned. Store comparison has a nominal 0 kg entry and maximum 15 kg mobility-load claim. A consistent rated payload and its test conditions were not established.
IMU on both editions; developer IMU access, optional RGB-D camera and external interfaces belong to EDU in the comparison. Body-only dimensions ≤392×420×845 mm and mass ≤20 kg are upper bounds.
SDK and Integration
EDU includes SDK and simulation. Official repositories provide Python/C++ APIs, MuJoCo and RL workflows with per-form robot identifiers; downloadable low-level implementation is prebuilt.
| API type | Educational SDK |
|---|---|
| Languages | Python, C++11 |
| ROS support | SDK supports ROS1/ROS2 builds and standalone development, subject to EDU entitlement. |
| Simulation | Official TRON1 MuJoCo simulator plus manufacturer Isaac/Gazebo resources; use matching point/sole/wheel robot type. |
| Offline operation | Local control is distinct from cloud training, content generation and support-log processing. |
| Teleoperation | Edition-dependent; confirm purchased options. |
| Software updates | OTA support and compatible controller revisions require confirmation. |
| Documentation | Open documentation |
| Code examples | Open repository |
| Integration constraints | Do not assume a simulator download unlocks Standard motor/sensor APIs. |
Safety Notes
Force control, collision boundaries and fall mitigation are manufacturer features; no certified collaborative-operation capability established. Check torque-off behaviour and support the biped during testing.
